Top: David Paull, Western Woodlands Officer stands next to old ironbark logs at a Baradine timber mill – the trees were felled on private land in the Pilliga region. These trees measure 70-80 centimetres across, all with hollows. Logging on private land has weaker restrictions than state forest and is increasingly targeted by local timber mills.

We stopped the charcoal plant! We made the Government commit to more reserves in the western woodlands! More needs to be done. Donate now to ensure the NPA western woodlands project can continue to make this area safe for future generations.

Whether reaching for the sky for environmental reform – or reaching the limits in bushwalking – the NPA takes up the cause with gusto!
