FROM THE EDITOR's WINDOW

Land clearing is the biggest threat to the habitats of many native birds and the articles on pages 10 and 14 refer to the effects of landclearing. However, the future of birds' habitats is not always 'up in the air' with many State and community-based projects and ideas making a positive impact. Our birds feature crosses from pages 5-7 to 15-17.

Another big Walks Program with 110 walks planned for the months of May and June!

Also note that our librarian, Annette Wilson, who compiles the Journal index for each April edition, will now instead post it on the NPA website www.npansw.org.au as the majority of researchers and other topic searchers use this mode.

Regards,
Rosemary Pryor
